Whats up with this weather? Thunderstorms and WATERSPOUTS?! It looks as though when this weather settles the night bite is going to bust wide open. This evening Paul Bass and his friend Kelly picked a few fish around the points in the sound. Eventually, the two honed in on a backwater bite in the bay that produced some nice blues upwards of 12 pounds. |

After a morning of torrential rain, the skies cleared and the breeze freshened up to a steady 10-15 kts out of the NW, often swinging over to the east. Despite fighting the ever changing wind, John Hanley ventured out with two of his co-workers and set up into a bluefish bite with the bigger fish weighing in at 11 pounds. |

Despite a late start and the threat of rain, Brendan McGovern and two of his pals were rewarded with an INSANE skinny-water bite of bluefish to 12 pounds. While the all but a few stripers remained elusive that morning, the blue-dogs were on fire taking chunks as soon as they settled in two feet of water! |

Just when it looked like the striper bite was slowing down, perfact conditions and the right bait yielded Dr. Marc Childs (fishing solo) more than a dozen nice bass including two fish over 30lbs. The fish were mostly caught on chunks and there were a few big bluefish mixed in. This proves that there are still nice stripers around! |

Taking his yearly pilgramage from the mountains to the flatland, Dan Serbonich treated his family to a morning trip of fine weather and excellent fishing. For a solid three hours, the group flatlined chunks and boated an impressive catch of over 30 bluefish and bass to 10 lbs. As the morning progressed, the tide slowed and the heat intensified. As a change of pace we switched over to fluke, landing 5 shorts and some monster sea robins. |

John Matthews and his group battled the evening weather change. The bite started of well with some big bluefish and a monster bass well over 35lbs. Then it turned into a pick with a couple more bass (one very large one dropped at boatside) and bluefish. |

Chris Sheehan and his group had a very good trip and they scored way too many big stripers to count. They had at least a dozen fish in the 20lb class and a few in the 30lb class. The overcast weather certainly helped and kept the fish feeding right through the entire tide. |

Jay Gelb, Rich Schiff and two of their friends fought adverse conditions such as holiday boat traffic and the dreaded wind-against-tide to try a shot at the ever changing bass bite. After a slow start the fish turned on and the group settled in to a two hour steady pick of fish. While most of the fish were just short, the three table fare fish weighed in at a healthy 14-18 lbs. |

Kirk Palmer and his crew got into some pretty good early striper action despite the very low tide and the fact that the incoming tide was held up by the weather. However, their search for larger fish saw plently of fish on the screen, but very few bites. The current main body of fish has moved further east and into the deep water. There are still patches of fish in the shallows and it looks like we should have a good shot by the weekend. |

Fishing solo, displaced Texan Andy Gold tried his hand at an evening trip and learned pretty quickly that NOT EVERYTHING IS BIGGER IN TEXAS! Having caught some landlocked stripers down south, Andy was impressed with the size of our local fish after scoring with a pile of mid-teen size bass on plugs, live bunker and chunks in the shallows. |
